Coach Steve's Profile

Steve has worked in the mental health / alcohol and other drugs sector for over 30 years. His diverse career has involved working in third-world nations, upskilling Indigenous Australians in remote communities, practical hands-on experience in the Northern Territory's Top end, lecturing on Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs at TAFESA in Adelaide, assisting prisoners (pre and post release) who experience various forms of disability in Brisbane, and an assortment of roles in both mental health and alcohol and other drugs sectors in Far North Queensland. Steve spent years as a Principal Guardian for the homeless at the QLD Government's Office of Public Guardian in Townsville, and has been the subject matter expert for Community Mental Health at a NDIA partner. It was there that Steve developed individualised NDIS plans, including funding, for participants with a psychosocial disability.

It is fair to say that Steve has a passion for the sector and direct experience as a Recovery Coach assisting people to develop their own personalised tools for recovery. He aims to ensure these tools can be used effectively when the storms of life hit.

Steve is now a grandfather, a mentor, a mate, and has spent his life assisting those in need from every walk of life.
